Catch more Big Angry Fish this season

01 Aug 2013, Community & Sponsorship

Sponsored by PlaceMakers, Big Angry Fish is back for its second season and co-host Milan Radonich promises bigger and better trips and fish than the first.

“We’ve taken all the good bits of last season and improved on them by adding more of a story and more tips to take on board your own excursions,” says Milan. “If you enjoyed our first round then you’re definitely in for a treat as we think this season is ten times better!”

The TV3 13-week series airs from 28 July at 5:30pm and showcases just how “world class” NZ fishing can be with snapper, trevally, king fish and even marlins on the line.

The idea for the show was born in 2008 when Milan and fellow angler Nikolaj Mathieson had an incredible fishing experience up north.

“Big Angry Fish is all about showing that you don’t have to travel a million miles off shore to catch a trophy fish,” says Milan. “They are right there at your doorstep and we’ll show you how to get them.”

He says a big focus was making it a bit different from the average fishing show and he believes it’s worked.

“It’s not just about us catching big fish – it’s about the story that goes with it. We incorporate amazing cinematography, information about the local area and wildlife, as well as the strategy that brought us to that exact spot,” says Milan.

“It’s not just about stepping out and putting your anchor down; there’s an art to the entire process and that includes reading the water and the location to know where the fish are.”

So make sure you’ve got control of the remote at 5:30pm on Sunday, 28 July to catch Big Angry Fish – on screen and on the water!
