Weatherboarding the EZY way

Give yourself an edge with the EZYScribe pre-cut scriber

Cutting and measuring your own scriber is time-consuming work; around an hour on an average job, according to case studies. Arguably, any time-saving measure is a bonus when it comes to keeping a project running on schedule and to budget.

EZYScribe has been supplying pre-cut scriber to the building industry for ten years. Using EZYScribe, you can have your scriber ready in as little as ten minutes!

Not only that, you will get the precision required to ensure a quality result that will stand the test of time. Effective claddings are a crucial part of weathertight buildings. Some builders might like to creep weatherboards to suit window and door heads, but it’s not good practice.

Get in the groove!

All timber weatherboards have top and bottom ‘weather grooves’ – one in the front and one at the back – designed to stop the capillary action of water. Spreading or reducing the gap between boards can reduce the effectiveness of their design.

In the case of bevel-back weatherboards, a bevel on the top edge is designed to sit flat on the board below. Again, if you alter the cover, their weathertight capability will be compromised.

You can use EZYScriber as your story rod to ensure boards are properly spaced, whether timber or fibre cement. Set it out from wherever you want to start (usually the window head) and guarantee the correct cover!

Available sizes

EZYScribe comes in 40x10mm and 40x18mm sizes at 5.4m lengths. Our standard Radiata H3.1 treated and pre-primed scriber fits the following weatherboards:
