Building code updates
24 Apr 2014, Industry Updates
MBIE cites updated references to Standards in Acceptable solutions and Varification Methods.
In February, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) published amendments to 19 Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods to reflect updated, deleted, or amended references to NZ Standards and other publications.
MBIE regularly reviews published Standards to see whether they are suitable for referencing in the Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods. MBIE consulted on the proposed changes from 20 September to 20 October 2013 and received feedback in support of the proposed changes.
There is a transition period from 14 February to 14 August 2014, during which both the old and the new documents apply. From 14 August, only the new versions will apply.
The Acceptable Solutions and Verification Methods for the New Zealand Building Code clauses listed below have been amended.
