November LBP seminars announced

PlaceMakers is delighted to announce that the next round of LBP Seminars will be held across the country in November 

With constant regulatory changes in the building industry, PlaceMakers investment in offering opportunities for upskilling remains unchanged. While PlaceMakers Under Construction website seeks to feature all the information builders need to know for business and skills maintenance requirements, our popular skills maintenance seminars offer an in-person opportunity to stay up to speed. 

The free two-hour sessions – which include (at least!) two speakers and two short quizzes – are designed to help you stay up to speed with Building Code updates, enhance your business management and earn skills maintenance points. It’s also a chance to catch up and enjoy some food and drinks with other LBPs from around the region. 

The November round of seminars will feature a range of speakers, which vary depending on the location. Business, risk and insurance and legal advice presenters include The Professional Builder, Builtin and  Duncan Cotterill We are also pleased to welcome Jeff Fahrensohn from Auckland City Council back after his well-received presentations in our last round. All seminars will also include a chosen supplier who will provide updates on the latest H1 changes and solutions to enable builders to meet them.

All Licensed Building Practitioners, those who have applied for a licence and PlaceMakers customers are welcome to attend. The session is relevant for all licence classes including brick and block layers, roofers and plasterers. 

Each seminar is approximately two hours long and will count as two hours of elective learning. Tradies who have applied for a licence, or are thinking about becoming licensed, are welcome to attend PlaceMakers skills maintenance seminars.

• Auckland South (Mt Wellington): Tuesday 4 November. 

• Te Anau: Tuesday 11 November. 

• Invercargill: Wednesday 12 November. 

• Auckland South (Takanini): Wednesday 12 November. 

• Auckland North (Wairau Park): Thursday 13 November. 

• Gore: Thursday 13 November. 

• Wellington: Thursday 20 November. 

• Christchurch: Tuesday 25 November. 

• Nelson: Wednesday 26 November. 

• Tauranga: Thursday 27 November.
