PlaceMakers seminars on the road again

07 Oct 2014, LBP & Regulation

PlaceMakers’ cross-country seminars give builders the chance to continue their learning

With PlaceMakers’ seventh round of seminars in full swing, presenter John Tait is delving into a number of topics with builders across the country. From licensing, to consumer protection measures, John is packing plenty of valuable information into each event.

“While some of the content is aimed at the more senior members of building companies, it’s all important information and I strongly encourage business owners to bring their staff along,” says John.

He reviews the skills maintenance programme, how licensed building practitioners are handling its requirements and what can be learned from published complaints.

John will go into detail about the new consumer protection measures – set to come into force on 1 January 2015 – and how you can prepare yourself for the changes.

The seminar will also include information on recent report findings regarding consenting processes, fees and expectations, as well as focus on E3 – internal moisture, the importance of home maintenance and the credibility
of producer statements.

Sika product specialists will also be doing a presentation about waterproofing applications and products.

Keeping up to speed on the industry’s regulatory changes and technical knowledge is an essential part of being a licensed building practitioner, so make sure to come out to the seminar nearest you!
