PlaceMakers Hawke’s Bay new look

24 Feb 2015, Community & Sponsorship

PlaceMakers’ trade customers in Hawke’s Bay can look forward to even better service in the New Year

The new store in Corunna Bay opened on 19 January and features a more builder-friendly design than the previous Taradale Road store.

Hawke’s Bay store manager Andrew Milne says his team of 24 staff is committed to delivering customers what they need.

“We’re right behind making it easier for the trade to do business with us,” he says. “We’ve designed the store with that in mind to help our trade customers save time and money. It just makes sense.”

Andrew has a practical grounding in construction, with a trade qualification in carpentry. He was promoted to managing Hawke’s Bay after working at the Silverdale store as operations manager.

The street frontage at Corunna Bay also removes access problems at the old store, caused by being next to a main arterial road. Efficiency is further increased by an enlarged yard, which covers more than 6,500m² and has a two-lane undercover drive-through. Low-level racking instore means tradies will be able to find what they’re looking for faster.

General manager of operations and marketing Gary Woodhouse says that delivering in full and on time is crucial to customers completing their projects on time.

“We are committed to making sure that core trade lines are always in stock and will be measuring our success in this area to make sure we get it right,” Gary says.
