PlaceMakers demonstrates industry connections at NZIBES

PlaceMakers continues longstanding support of Chinese building community by bringing customers, suppliers and industry partners together at the New Zealand International Building Expo & Summit 2026

Held under the theme ‘Engage. Empower. Elevate.’ the New Zealand International Building Expo & Summit (NZIBES) provides a platform for builders, developers, suppliers, manufacturers and other industry professionals to connect and explore new products, ideas and business opportunities.

PlaceMakers returned as a major exhibitor and supporter of the event, hosting the PlaceMakers Zone alongside a wide range of suppliers, customers and Supplier-Fix-Install partners. Including GIB, Makita, B&D Doors, Claymark, Firth, Humes, Indelible Homes, Future Build, ECKO, Vision Stairs & Doors, Mars Living, Milwaukee, Pink Batts, ColorCote, Dimond Roofing, Complete Reinforcing, Forward Window Solutions, Laminex, Bostik and Mico.

Visitors were able to speak directly with exhibitors, explore products and solutions and connect with businesses from across the construction supply chain.

The event also provided an opportunity for PlaceMakers to bring its trade-specific product range NZ’s Best Trade Service and Making Business Easier together in one setting – and the PlaceMakers Lucky Spin Wheel gave attendees the opportunity to win prizes during the event.

PlaceMakers GM Sales Mike Guy said the Expo provided a useful overview of key developments across the sector.

“It was fantastic to once again be part of the NZIBES Expo. The event brings innovation and ideas together under one roof, with our PlaceMakers Zone showcasing the products and thinking our supplier partners are bringing to the industry. It is a great snapshot of where New Zealand construction is heading.

“The gala dinner in the evening was the opportunity to round out the event by bringing the Chinese building community together and celebrating their success in the industry.”

Far-reaching partnership

PlaceMakers has supported the New Zealand Chinese Building Industry Association (NZCBIA) since the inception of NZIBES, with the relationship extending beyond the annual Expo.

PlaceMakers is a Diamond Sponsor of the NZCBIA Excellence Awards and works with the association to support education initiatives for industry professionals.

“We recognise the Chinese building community as an important part of New Zealand’s construction industry,” said Guy.

“Our long-standing relationship with NZCBIA is about much more than supporting individual events – it’s about building a genuine, long-term partnership with the industry and the people within it.
