MICO Plumbing and PlaceMakers come together to offer customers ‘one-stop’ trade shop
A home isn’t complete without a bathroom, so why not offer supplies for both in the same location? With that in mind, MICO Plumbing and PlaceMakers have joined forces to offer Taupo tradies a ‘one-stop shop’ at a new purpose-built premises.
Catering for the customer
The two well-known Kiwi brands opened for business at their new co-location on 7 May. Prime minister John Key was on hand to acknowledge the occasion, saying it was a welcome recognition of the role the two businesses play in New Zealand’s trade industry.
PlaceMakers chief executive Dean Fradgley says co-locating MICO Plumbing and bathrooms and PlaceMakers makes perfect sense and is all about offering more convenience for customers.
“It’s an opportunity to genuinely enhance our plumbing and bathroom category under the specialist MICO banner – something which customers have told us they want,” says Dean.
“We’ve completed four successful co-locations already – in Whitanga, Kerikeri, Palmertson North and Wanaka – and the feedback we’ve had from customers confirms it’s the right move.”
MICO and PlaceMakers continue to offer their respective brands and product ranges in the new store, with dedicated trade areas for each and a shared bathroom and kitchen showroom.
Same teams, same great service
Both teams are relocating to the new store, so customers can rest assured they will continue to receive the same great service from the people they’ve come to know and trust.
“Nothing changes for MICO and PlaceMakers customers,” says MICO regional manager Vince Jones. “The same teams will continue to serve our plumber, builder and DIY customers on the same accounts and pricing.”
