Te Anau’s new store offers more

PlaceMakers Te Anau plays a key role in welcoming adventurous Kiwis and tourists to the country’s most rugged region and the recent expansion will help continue and improve its great service.
“Great Walk huts, lakeside lodges and many other far-flung structures in New Zealand’s southern west coast were, and still are, built with our products, as we’re the closest supplier,” says JV Alister Rance.
“That’s why it’s essential that we offer them everything they need. We began looking at redevelopment options in 2005, when we realised we had outgrown our old premises. Until now, we’ve never had the space to offer customers the entire PlaceMakers range!”
The new store is just over 1,000 m2 – double the size of the old one. It has a much stronger trade offering and is also more resistant to earthquakes, high winds and snow.
The official opening celebrations were held on 4 April and the team has already received plenty of customer appreciation.
“The unanimous feedback is that it’s a massive improvement and has a great atmosphere,” says Alister. “That’s great to hear – it’s not all about building a nicer place for us to work, it’s about providing a great place for our customers to come and do business.”
